PEG-2 Soyamine Derived from soybean, this is used as the product’s moisturising gel base
Aqua (Purified, De-ionized Water) This is normal water that has been filtered and treated to remove metallic ions and other impurities. At the same time, this process kills any existing micro-organisms. Used at low levels in the gel base
Cocomide DEA Derived from coconut, this is used as a gentle thickening surfactant and lathering agent
Denatured Alcohol Derived from corn, this is used as a preservative and solvent

The above pigments are available in a broad spectrum of colors and are all derived from minerals.
Colour Pigment Levels:

The shade of each Tints of Nature Colour Gel is determined by its mix of the above listed pigments. Additionally, and in general, the more total pigment a shade contains, the darker it will tend to be. Therefore, 1N, Natural Black, can be seen to have the largest percentage of pigment. However, this percentage is still very small when viewed as a proportion of the overall Colour Gel makeup. As an example, across the entire range of 24 colours, the average total percentage by volume of pigment, including PPD’s, in each Tints of Nature Colour Gel is approximately 1.3%. Excluding 1N, that percentage drops to approximately 1%. As far as the PPD’s go, measured separately, and including 1N, their average total percentage by volume in each Tints of Nature Colour Gel is approximately 0.62%. Excluding 1N, that percentage drops to approximately 0.4%. On a colour by colour basis, the maximum level of PPD’s is approximately 2% by volume in 1N (equivalent to approximately 1/50th of a bottle of Colour Gel). The minimum is approximately 0.03% in 10XL (equivalent to approximately 1/3300th of a bottle of Colour Gel). All of these percentages can be halved when diluted with the Colour Fix and ready for use.

Hydrogen Peroxide (pharmaceutical grade) Derived from water & oxygen, this oxidizing agent activates the color pigments in the color gel
Certified Organic Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile) Extract A botanical extract of the Chamomile plant. Used here to provide natural soothing and anti-inflammatory effects
Polyquarternium-10 Derived from plant cellulose, this is used as a conditioner
Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate & Tocopherol (Vitamin E) This is a broad spectrum preservative system
Etidronic Acid This is a mineral derived acidifier and pH adjuster
Peroxide Levels: Undiluted: 6% by volume, except 10XL which is 9% by volume. These percentages are halved (i.e. to 3% and 4.5% by volume) when diluted with the Colour Gel and ready for use.

Directions of use: To color your hair:

1. Shampoo your hair using the sachet of Clarifying Shampoo to remove build-up and prepare the hair for coloring. Towel dry your hair.

2. Comb your hair.

3. Put on the gloves provided. Uncap both bottles and pour the contents of the Colour Gel into the Colourfix bottle. Replace the applicator cap in the Colourfix bottle and shake thoroughly.

4. Unscrew the tip of the applicator bottle and use immediately. Squeeze the color through the applicator onto the root.

5. Continue applying color to the whole of the hair. Gently massage the color into the hair until all the hair has been covered. Then cover the hair with the developing cap and leave for 30 minutes to develope. For strong grey hair or extra lightening, you may leave the color on for 40 minutes. If you are only covering regrowth, follow steps 1-4. Gently massage the color into the roots only, cover with the developing cap and leave for 20 minutes. Remove the cap, apply the color to the rest of the hair, cover with the cap again, and leave for a further 10 minutes.

6. Remove the developing cap. Wearing the gloves, add a few drops of water to the color and work into a lather. Rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear. Using the Tints of Nature sachet, shampoo the hair and rinse thoroughly. Apply the Tints of nature Conditioner sachet, comb through the hair and leave on for 5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Stlye hair as desired.
